The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is an American military museum. You will be able to see how the military lived, see their bunkers, recreations of their control rooms, real fighter planes, and get an idea of what the military had to go through while at war.

The museum is open Thursday through Sunday (closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) and is open from 10:00AM and the last entry ends at 4:00PM.

My favorite part of the museum was to go inside a submarine. The submarine (known as “USS Growler”) is the only nuclear missile submarine available open to the public in the United States.

Everything in the submarine was compact (which makes sense, it’s a fighter submarine) but it’s one thing to imagine a submarine with tiny pathways/eating areas/bunkbeds, and another to experience it in some way. It was hard not to feel claustrophobic in the submarine with small amount of people so I couldn’t imagine living here for days on end with nearly a hundred men.

On the right side of the museum is the kid section which is by the far the most fun part of the museum because of the little games and demonstrations.
